Module 4 review
In module 4, we learned that CBT is a therapy based around identifying cognitions (thoughts) that are the result of emotions that drive a certain behaviour. Often those thoughts are an automatic response to a certain situation, so if we can change our cognitions we can ultimately change the emotion that results in an unwanted behaviour. We also looked at identifying behaviours that may be stopping us from losing weight and methods to help us change these unhelpful behaviours. We also discussed the various difficult situations that prevent us from being successful such as social situations, eating out, and going on holiday which unfortunately can be barriers to losing weight and keeping weight off.
