Lesson 8.1: Module 7 Review
Module 7 review
In module 7, the strong correlation between our emotions and our thoughts and behaviours towards food was highlighted. Certain emotions could lead to emotional eating or binge eating. By understanding our emotions and their implications towards our relationship with food and eating, we can prevent chaotic eating and food misuse. Some common examples of emotional eating are stress eating, self abuse, post trauma eating and fulfilling unmet needs. Relaxation and mindfulness strategies are helpful in managing emotional eating and binge eating as they help in addressing the emotions and may prevent situations from escalating.
Emotional eating can be because of body image issues. Do the body image checklist.
