In the metabolic style of eating, the traditional food pyramid has been replaced by the metabolic pyramid which is an eating style rich in nutrient dense, unrefined and unprocessed food. It contains eating good fats, lean meat and unlimited salads and vegetables. Eating foods with a low carbohydrate content helps with weight loss due to reduced insulin secretion and increased satiety through sustained glucose response. Skipping meals or not eating for long periods of time slows down your metabolism. Preparation and organisation are key to being successful in ensuring you are eating the right foods and not allowing yourself to get over hungry.
